Die Intel Corporation gab am 4. Mai 2020 bekannt, dass sie Moovit, ein Unternehmen für Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS)-Lösungen, für rund 900 Millionen US-Dollar (840 Millionen US-Dollar abzüglich des Kapitalgewinns von Intel Capital) übernommen hat.
Moovit ist bekannt für seine Anwendung für urbane Mobilität, die Reisenden auf der ganzen Welt die beste multimodale Reiseplanung durch die Kombination von öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, Fahrrad- und Rollerdiensten, Ride-Hailing und Car-Sharing bietet.
Mit der Aufnahme von Moovit kommt Intels Mobileye seinem Plan näher, ein vollständiger Mobilitätsanbieter zu werden, der auch Robotaxi-Dienste einschließt, was bis 2030 einen geschätzten Umsatz von 160 Milliarden Dollar bieten wird.
Einmal mehr zeigt sich, dass die israelische Start-up Landschaft nur so von Kraft und Innovation strotzt. Trotz Corona-Krise zeigt sich Israel sehr robust und wird wahrscheinlich sogar gestärkt aus dieser Krise kommen.
Moovit hat seine Führungsposition im MaaS-Bereich mit mehr als 800 Millionen Nutzern und Dienstleistungen in 3.100 Städten in 102 Ländern etabliert. Heute ist Mobileye der führende Partner für Automobillösungen, der fortschrittliche Fahrerassistenzsysteme (ADAS) ermöglicht, die in fast 60 Millionen Fahrzeugen bei mehr als 25 Automobilherstellern eingesetzt werden.
Nach der Übernahme nun von Moovit und davor vom israelischen Unternehmen Mobileye, wo INTEL 11 Milliarden investierte, zeichnen sich zunehmend die Konturen ab, dass INTEL sich auch zu einem Mobilitätskonzern entwickelt.
Es würde nicht überraschen, wenn man bald die Übernahme des einen oder anderen Autoproduzenten als Layer 6 durch INTEL hören würde. Sinn würde es machen.

Intel Corporation announced on 4 May 2020 that it has acquired Moovit, a mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) solutions company, for approximately US$900 million (US$840 million net of capital gain from Intel Capital).
Moovit is known for its urban mobility application that provides travellers around the world with the best multi-modal travel planning by combining public transport, bike and scooter services, ride-hailing and car-sharing.
With the addition of Moovit, Intel’s Mobileye moves closer to its plan to become a full mobility provider that includes robotaxi services, which will offer an estimated $160 billion in revenue by 2030.
Once again, it is evident that the Israeli start-up landscape is bursting with vigour and innovation. Despite the Corona crisis, Israel is proving to be very robust and will probably even come out of this crisis stronger.

Today, Mobileye is the leading automotive solutions partner enabling advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) deployed in nearly 60 million vehicles across more than 25 car manufacturers.
After the acquisition now of Moovit and before that of the Israeli company Mobileye, where INTEL invested 11 billion, the contours are increasingly emerging that INTEL is also becoming a mobility group.
It would not be surprising to hear soon about INTEL’s acquisition of one or another car manufacturer as Layer 6. It would make sense.
