Die israelische Regierung hat gestern verkündet, dass Google und AWS einen Auftrag von rund 1 Milliarde USD erhalten, um Cloudsevices mit state of the art-Niveau für den Staat Israel und das Militär einzurichten.
Dabei werden rund 3.000 neue Arbeitsplätze im Hochtechnologiebereich geschaffen. Das Anbieterteam AWS/Google konnte sich im Tenderverfahren gegen das Team Microsoft/Oracle/IMB im Rahmen des Projektes ‘Nimbus’ durchsetzen, welches Lesern von Glocalist bekannt ist. AWS/Google haben sich verpflichtet, ein Clouddatenzentrum innert der nächsten zwei Jahre in Israel zu errichten und verpflichten sich für mindstens sieben Jahre die Cloudservices anzubieten.
Israels Finnazministerium erwartet zusätzlich eine Umwegrentabilität für die israelische Wirtschaft von rund 200 Millionen USD; zusätzlich zu den rund 3.000 neuen Arbeitsplätzen.

The Israeli government announced yesterday that Google and AWS have been awarded a contract of around $1 billion to deploy state of the art level cloudsevices for the state of Israel and the military.
This will create around 3,000 new jobs in the high-tech sector. The AWS/Google vendor team won the tender process against the Microsoft/Oracle/IMB team as part of the ‘Nimbus’ project, which is familiar to Glocalist readers. AWS/Google have committed to build a cloud data center in Israel within the next two years and commit to provide cloud services for at least seven years.
Israel’s Ministry of Finance additionally expects a roundabout return on investment for the Israeli economy of about $200 million; in addition to about 3,000 new jobs.
