Der Präsident des Staates Israel, Isaak Herzog, und ‘First Lady‘ Michal Herzog waren am 17. Mai Gastgeber der ersten Tagung des israelischen Klimaforums (Israeli Climate Forum).
Das ‘Israeli Climate Forum‘, eine gemeinsame Initiative der ‘Life & Society Organization‘ und des ‘Office of the President‘ des Staates Israel, wurde voriges Jahr im Oktober 2021 gegründet. Es soll die besten Köpfe Israels für eine konzertierte Aktion zur Bewältigung der globalen Klimakrise zusammenführen.
Seit seinem Amtsantritt hat Präsident Isaak Herzog den Kampf gegen die globale Klimakrise zu einem Schwerpunktthema seiner Präsidentschaft erklärt. In seiner wegweisenden Rede „Erneuerbarer Naher Osten“ im Februar d.J. formulierte er eine Vision für regionale Zusammenarbeit zum Wohle und im Einklang mit der Umwelt.
Präsident Isaak Herzog führt aus: „Der globale Notstand ist bereits da. Es ist kein Problem, das zukünftigen Jahrhunderten oder kommenden Generationen angehört. Die globale Klimakrise ist mit voller Wucht da, und sie wird immer schlimmer. Genau aus diesem Grund haben wir das Forum gegründet, damit der Staat Israel diese Krise bekämpfen kann.“
Über den organisatorischen und strategischen Ansatz führt Dr. Dov Khenin, Vorsitzender des ‘Israeli Climate Forum‘ aus: “Das israelische Klimaforum ist eine außergewöhnliche Initiative der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Hunderten von Fachleuten und Aktivisten aus Regierung, Knesset, Zivilgesellschaft und Wissenschaft. Wir müssen in Israel einen großen Richtungswechsel herbeiführen. Die Klimakrise schafft große Gefahren, aber auch echte Chancen, und ihre Bewältigung kann das Leben von uns allen im Hier und Jetzt verbessern.”
Zu beachten ist, dass in Rio und in Durban die sozialistische mit der antisemitischen Agenda verknüpft wurde und heute eine der maßgeblichen Strömung innerhalb der globalen Klimaschutzbewegung darstellt. Viele deutsche NGOs, die die globale Umweltschutzbewegungen dominieren, spielen hier eine eher unrühmliche Rolle.
Viele der sogenannten Klimaschutzorganisationen, wie ‘Friday for Future‘, haben sich zu Organisationen entwickelt, wo antisemitische Kräfte und Befürworter der BDS ungehindert agieren können, wie beispielsweise die ‘Jüdische Allgemeine‘ berichtet oder der bekannte Historiker Michael Wolffsohn über “Greta” ausführt.
Der Kampf gegen Antisemitismus aka Antizionismus in internationalen Klimabündissen kann daher ein weiteres wichtiges Aufgabenfeld für das ‘Israeli Climate Forum‘ darstellen, damit der Kampf gegen den Klimawandel nicht mehr ein Aufmarschfeld antisemitischer, antiisraelischer Kräfte bleibt.

The President of the State of Israel, Isaak Herzog, and ‘First Lady‘ Michal Herzog hosted on May 17 the first session of the ‘Israel Climate Forum‘.
The ‘Israeli Climate Forum‘, a joint initiative of the ‘Life & Society Organization‘ and the ‘Office of the President‘ of the State of Israel, was founded last year in October 2021. It aims to bring together the best minds in Israel for concerted action to tackle the global climate crisis.
Since taking office, President Isaak Herzog has made the fight against the global climate crisis a priority of his presidency. In his landmark speech “Renewable Middle East” in February this year. He formulated a vision for regional cooperation for the good and in harmony with the environment.
President Isaak Herzog states: “The global emergency is already here. It is not a problem that belongs to future centuries or generations to come. The global climate crisis is here with full force, and it is getting worse. This is exactly why we established the Forum, so that the State of Israel can fight this crisis.“
Dr. Dov Khenin, Chair of the ‘Israeli Climate Forum‘ from: “The Israeli Climate Forum is an extraordinary initiative of collaboration between hundreds of professionals and activists from the government, the Knesset, civil society, and academia. We must create a major change of direction in Israel. The climate crisis is creating major dangers but also genuine opportunities, and tackling them can improve the lives of all of us in the here and now.”
However, what have to be in mind is that in Rio and in Durban the socialist agenda was linked to the anti-Semitic agenda and today represents one of the main currents within the global climate protection movement. Many German NGOs, which dominate the global environmental protection movement, play a rather inglorious role here.
Many of the so-called climate protection organizations, such as ‘Friday for Future‘, have evolved into organizations where anti-Semitic forces and advocates of BDS can operate freely, such as the ‘Jüdische Allgemeine‘ reports or the well-known historian Michael Wolffsohn writes about “Greta”.
The fight against anti-Semitism aka anti-Zionism in international climate alliances can therefore represent another important task for the ‘Israeli Climate Forum‘, so that the fight against climate change no longer remains a rallying field for anti-Semitic, anti-Israeli forces.
