From Israel’s point of view, the omnibus decision by the US Congress was quite considerable. The only realm that needs a robuste improvement is the Abraham Accords, which the Biden administration doesn’t particularly appreciate. However, if you want peace in the Middle East, you need the Abraham Accords once brokered by Trump and Netanyahu.
The AIPAC writes in a statement on Twitter: “The bill promotes peace by supporting and expanding the Abraham Accords. America is stronger when Israel is secure.“
In sum the US-administration will provide about $4 billion on behalf of security – in the broad sense – of Israel. In detail, it looks like this: $3.3 billion goes directly to the defense of Israel without further conditions and reservations.
$500 million goes to air defense (Iron Dom, David’s Sling and Arrow), $47.5 million to detecting tunnels used by terrorist organizations like Hamas and $25 million to the ‘Anti-Drone’ program.
Further, $6 million to cybersecurity, $2 million to cooperation between Homeland Security USA and Israel, $3 million in health protection, $6 million in water & energy collaborations, $8 million in friendly actions with neighboring Arab countries and the Abraham Accords, $2 million in agricultural collaborations between the USA and Israel, $2 million in sustainability collaborations.
Further, $50 million for peacebuilding programs between the people of Israel, Palestine and America, $5 million in aid to refugees in Israel, and finally general promotion and an annual progress report on the Abraham Accord, which is undoubtedly its weakest and most disappointing point.
In sum, a strong program for Israel, but not for the Abraham Accords which are obviously not much liked by the Biden administration.
