Abraham Accords: MK Illouz (Likud) at IRENA Legislators Forum in Abu Dhabi

MK Dan Illouz (Likud) represented the Knesset at the Legislators Forum of the ‘International Renewable Energy Agency’ (IRENA), which was held in recent days as part of the 13th Session of the IRENA Assembly in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
 
MK Illouz addressed the Forum and stressed that Israel was fully prepared to collaborate with other countries in order to combat the climate crisis.

The climate crisis has no borders, and overcoming it​ is a mission that unites everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender or political considerations, said MK Illouz, who mentioned in this regard the cooperation agreement between Israel, Jordan and the UAE, which will see the construction of a major solar power plant in Jordan to generate electricity for Israel, and the construction of a desalination plant in Israel that will send water to Jordan.
 
During the Forum, MK Illouz met with Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chair of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the UAE’s Federal National Council, and thanked him for supporting Israel and the Abraham Accords, as well as for his efforts to promote tolerance and Holocaust education.

MK Illouz noted that in the coming weeks, a Israel-UAE parliamentary friendship group will be established in the new Knesset, with the purpose of strengthening parliamentary relations between the countries.    
 
The Forum was attended by dozens of lawmakers from the UAE, Morocco, Qatar, Egypt, Argentina, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Romania, Germany, Uganda, Georgia, Spain, and other countries.
