It is true: Bahrain is a member of the Abraham Accords “Club”, but the economic progress is by far not as impressive as with UAE. So, both states have to step up more for the sake of peace and stability in the region they share.

High Time to go into action. Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain entered into negotiations for a free trade zone.
The press release said: “Recently, a representative from the International Economic Law Division at the Office of the Deputy Attorney General (International Law) participated in the first negotiation round on the Free Trade Agreement with Bahrain.
The Israeli delegation was led by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, and included representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture.
This negotiation is yet another fruit borne of the Abraham Accords, and holds significant regional and economic importance for the State of Israel.”
To a certain extent, the composition of the respective delegation clearly indicates a major problem facing Israel: a struggle for competence and responsibility of the ministries and bureaucracies. Israel enters talks with representatives from three ministries, Bahrain from one.

Höchste Zeit, in Aktion zu treten. Israel und das Königreich Bahrain haben Verhandlungen über eine Freihandelszone aufgenommen.
In der Pressemitteilung heißt es: „Kürzlich nahm ein Vertreter der Abteilung Internationales Wirtschaftsrecht im Büro des stellvertretenden Generalstaatsanwalts (Völkerrecht) an der ersten Verhandlungsrunde zum Freihandelsabkommen mit Bahrain teil.
Die israelische Delegation wurde vom Ministerium für Wirtschaft und Industrie geleitet und umfasste Vertreter des Justizministeriums, des Außenministeriums und des Landwirtschaftsministeriums.
Diese Verhandlung ist eine weitere Frucht des Abraham-Abkommens und von erheblicher regionaler und wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung für den Staat Israel.”
Ein Stück weit zeigt die jeweilige Delegationszusammensetzung ein großes Problem Israels sehr deutlich an: Kompetenz- und Zuständigkeitskampf innerhalb der Bürokratie. Israel tritt die Gespräche mit Repräsentanten aus drei Ministerien, Bahrain aus einem.
