It can be argued that the nascent partnership between Morocco and Israel in the Abraham Accords undoubtedly comes second to the UAE. But perspectively, it may be that Morocco will become more important for Israel than UAE currently is, should Saudi Arabia not finally give in and become part of the Abraham Agreement.
Start-Up Nation Central – a non-profit promoting the Israeli innovation ecosystem around the world – welcomed a delegation from the Moroccan Agency for Logistics Development (AMDL) this week to advance collaboration between countries in the logistics sector and to promote innovation ecosystems in both countries.
The delegation’s visit builds on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the two organizations in Casablanca last May during the “Connect2Innovate” conference. During the three-day meeting, the focus was on innovation and the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the logistics sector – and served as a foundation for a wide range of activities, including this week’s working visit to Israel for logistics business leaders from Morocco.
During the visit, the Moroccan cohort met with stakeholders in the Israeli logistics ecosystem, including The Israeli Supply Chain Management Forum and Israel Innovation Authority, to share supply chain and logistics expertise.
The delegation will visit several national logistics facilities, including the Israel Postal Company where the delegation discussed strategic business partnerships and agreed on follow-up meetings focused on business development. The delegation also visited Israel Airport Authority logistics centers.
The Moroccan delegation consists of prominent leaders from the Moroccan logistics sector, including representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, AMDL, National Airports Office (ONDA), SNTL Supply Chain and Royal Air Maroc (RAM), as well as from the private sector: General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM) represented by Bolloré Transport and Logistics, Jalal Transit Transport Logistique, TRANSMEL and YMSA.
