Turkey never misses an opportunity to threaten Israel’s existence. Turkey’s days as a NATO member must be numbered unless Trump pulls the plug on NATO in advance by having the USA withdraw from NATO.
Given this geopolitical climate and a weak left-wing Europe, a threatening scenario is emerging for Israel, as Israel’s government is proving to be extremely weak in its ability to act and lead. One can only hope that, if the worst comes to the worst, the USA under President Trump will take the helm.
The State of Israel is proving to be increasingly dysfunctional due to its appeasement and Oslo doctrine, which is deeply rooted in the state elite. The government and the deep state have lost sight of the strategic dimension. They are more concerned with internal courtship and power struggles than with the impending defeat.
Israel must end its strategy of procrastination, timidity and military raids. With defence and just raids, a war cannot be won. Fact. After the war, after the elections, Israel needs its DOGE and a Trump or Milei.
The ‘Nagel Committee’ nailed it by stating “Israel Must Prepare For War With Turkey“. And the main European power, Germany, is siding with Turkey.

With this backdrop the report of ‘Elder of Ziyon’ is alarming. Former prime minister of Turkey says Gaza is still part of the Ottoman Empire and Gazans are legally Turkish citizens
And ‘Elder of Ziyon’ gave the full quote: “Davutoğlu stated, “Now, as a Turk, as a Turk who is a subject of the Ottoman Empire, I am saying to Trump; the last legitimate state of the people of Gaza was the Ottoman Empire. After that, the British mandate was established, it did not grant citizenship. Israel is already illegitimate and has never granted citizenship. As the Republic of Turkey, which is the legitimate continuity of the Ottoman Empire, the people of Gaza should hold a referendum as our natural compatriots and citizens. And they should be connected to the Republic of Turkey as an autonomous region until the State of Palestine is established.”
This claim is of course legal nonsense since Turkey lost World War I and large parts of it came under French and British mandate. Turkey therefore has no title whatsoever. This alleged claim of Turkey is as absurd as claiming there is a “Palestinian” people, ethnicity or nation.
This means Israel must also change its military doctrine according to the Nagel report, too. The report summarizes: “4. Moving from a “containment” and defence perspective to a “prevention” and preparedness perspective, alongside building capabilities for immediate and sometimes even disproportionate response. In addition, preparedness for preemptive and preemptive war.”
At the moment no change is in sight.
