The message of the Tikva Forum – which represents the largest advocacy group for the hostages’ families – is clear cut: The current model, in which Hamas blackmails Israel with ever-increasing demands and repeated violations, endangers the security of the state and the cost of human lives in the immediate term. A firm and clear ultimatum could save the lives of the hostages while maintaining Israel’s security. We demand that the Israeli government put an end to extortion and act decisively to return all the abductees unconditionally.
