Nach Berichten von GLOBES plane Miccrosoft im Jahr 2021 zwischen 1 bis 1,5 Milliarden USD in Israel zu investieren. Nachdem Microsoft, wie auf Glocalist berichtet, ein architektonisch wegweisenden neuen Campus eingerichtet hat, erscheint dieser nächste Schritt nur folgerichtig.
In Herzliah, das mit rund 100.000 Einwohnern zur Metropolitan-Region Dan Gush zählt und ca 15 km nördlich von Tel Aviv am Meer liegt, hat Microsoft seinen Campus 2020 errichtet. Es ist ein auf Prinzipien der Nachhaltigkeit beruhender Campus, der rund 50.000 qm Nutzfläche aufweist. Der Campus ist der erste in Israel, dessen Design nach ‘LEED V4 Gold” zertifiziert ist, einem internationalen Standard für fortgeschrittene umweltfreundliche Gebäude.
So weist der Campus rund 4.000 qm Gartenfläche und rund 8.000 qm offenen Raum auf, Wasser soll aus der Luftfeuchtigkeit gewonnen, die Wände, wo möglich, zu horizontalen Gärten ausgestattet und der Strom wird selbstverständlich durch Solarzellen gewonnen werden.
In Gesprächen mit Netanjahu soll dieses neue Investment besprochen worden sein. An Details weiß GLOBES weiter zu berichten, dass für diese Investment die Unternehmenssteuer für Microsoft auf 6% gesenkt wird, statt den üblichen 7,5% für Startups im Techbereich.
