Israeli startups are back again. With an impact that can be seen in a world of war, upheaval, and chaos. One thing is clear: in a world of chaos, upheaval, and war, innovation is one of the hard currencies like weapons, gold, and chocolate.
Press releases that landed on my desk last month made me sit up and take notice: a lot came into it. I started my first rollover. I came up with around a billion US dollars.
I couldn’t really believe it and then I saw that other Israeli business media published similar figures today.
GLOBES wrote: “Despite the war and the Passover holidays, Israeli startups raised over $1 billion in April 2024, according to press releases seen by “Globes.” The figure may be more as some companies prefer to remain in stealth and sometimes do not publicize the investments they have received. This is the first time that Israeli startups have raised more than $1 billion in a month for several years.“
And CTech wrote: “April 2024 in Israeli tech funding: Over $1 billion in 20 deals. After hitting a five-year April low with $377 million raised last year, Israeli startups crossed $1 billion in funding last month, which hasn’t happened in a single month since August 2022.“
It must be emphasized that we are only talking about the hi-tech sector. Investments in the non-tech sector, excluding the military sector, are also impressive and, based on various press releases that I have received, add up to around 1 billion US dollars.
Just Bibi?
There is no trace of Israel’s swan song and decline. The economy is picking up speed and is showing strong signs of life.
Investors not known for daydreaming and complacency are unimpressed by the global blackmail maneuvers against Israel.
They trust Israel and therefore also to a certain extent the Israeli government under Benjamin Netanyahu because otherwise, they would not invest in the Israeli economy in this way.
Factors of Success
Of course, other factors are also crucial and maybe even more important than the current Israeli government. May I mention pars pro toto just three out of many factors.
For example, there is the factor of resilience. Hardly any nation would have survived an attack like the one on October 7th by Iran’s genocidal Islamic terrorist organization, Hamas. But Israel has shown strength and will continue to show strength if it decides to take Rafiach one day.
Another factor is that Israel is hardly plagued by socialist wokism and racist left-wing intersectionality. They are fringe phenomena in Israel, albeit loud, but ultimately irrelevant, like the ‘Kaplan Left’ under Ehud Barak. And finally, the undisputed main factor is the power of innovation, which does not need to be discussed further here. It, the power of innovation, is part of the cultural algorithm of Judaism.
In any case, the macroeconomic data of the conservative Netanyahu government is better than that of the woke US administration under Biden/Obama, which is currently drowning in Muslim anti-Semitism.
Let us therefore look forward to the next month with confidence. Am Israel Chaji.
