Fifty percent of the thefts take place in broad daylight. This is indicative of thieves’ audacity, and it is reflected in the insurance premiums for all the citizens of Israel.” MK Passal suggested imposing harsher penalties for car theft and deducting the losses caused by the car thefts from the funds that are transferred to the Palestinian Authority.
