The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Knesset issued a clear warning to the deep state. The message is in simple words: Do not delay the implementation of the UNRWA law. It is not the first time that the Committee expressed its frustration.
The press release of the Committee stated without giving details: “The findings presented in the debate show that despite the progress made in the implementation of the laws, the government ministries and other relevant agencies have not yet completed their preparations on the matter. At the conclusion of the debate, Committee Chair MK Edelstein demanded that the relevant agencies complete their preparations within a week and report back to the committee.
Committee Chair MK Edelstein: “The law we led and passed is very clear, and commits all agencies to quick and efficient execution. We are determined to see the law implemented and UNRWA consigned to the dustbin of history.
“The State of Israel must tend to its citizens within its sovereign territory, and at the same time, prevent entry and freedom of action by any foreign element that has linked itself to terrorist organizations,” said MK Edelstein.”
One example is that the banks of Israel still have UNRWA accounts in their books and do not freeze them.
Calcalist wrote on the 4th of February: “Israel bans UNRWA operations, but banks hesitate to pull the plug. (…) The law was enacted last October, with a three-month preparation period, but during that time, banks have not changed their practices. It seems the responsibility of blocking bank accounts is being passed from one entity to another, with no one willing to take decisive action.”
That is outrageous. Do the banks of Israel act against the people of Israel? And, you have to notice again a very weak state that has no authority. Can the deep state and the elites safely ignore the laws and the security of the State of Israel? Obviously.
