Israel was able to regain traction for 2023 and improve its position in the innovation ranking ‘Global Innovation Index 2023‘ and is once again among the top 15 innovative economies in the world. Place 14 (2023)!
The index is published annually by the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and includes a bundle of indicators to create an index of innovation. Factors such as bureaucracy and infrastructure are therefore also included here. It is a 360-degree index of innovation.
Israel was able to return to the top 15 but is still far from its former top ranking in 2019 when it came in 10th place.
The problems that are slowing down Israel’s innovation are and will remain the dilapidated infrastructure and the monstrous bureaucracy as well as weak political institutions.
A judicial reform is urgently needed to strengthen the overall architecture of the political institutions which may finally trigger the renovation of the infrastructure.
The Israel Innovation Authority summarized: “Israel re-enters the top 15 in the 2023 GII report, reaching 14th place. Israel stands out in various areas, holding the top position in Market sophistication (11th), Business sophistication (6th) and Knowledge and technology outputs (5th). It distinguishes itself globally as the one country that allocates over 5% of GDP to R&D, with a remarkable expenditure of 5.6% in 2021.“
However, Israel’s problems are and will remain the infrastructure, for which the state is responsible, and the institutions, for which the state is also responsible.
The (mostly left-wing) deep state elites are dragging Israel down and making it look bad, as was recently the case with the Global Cities Index, where the poor performance of the bureaucracy prevented it from getting a better ranking. Israel regularly fails because of its poor bureaucracy/institutions and infrastructure.
Israel deserves and needs better elites.

Israel konnte für das Jahr 2023 wieder an Traktion gewinnen und sich im Innovationsranking ‘Global Innovation Index 2023‘ verbessern und befindet sich wieder unter en Top 15 der innovativen Ökonomien der Welt. Platz 14 (2023)!
Der Index wird jährlich von der WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) und umfasst ein Bündel an Indikatoren, um einen Index der Innovation zu erstellen. Hier werden daher auch Faktoren wie Bürokratie und Infrastruktur mit einbezogen. Es ist so ein 360 Grad Index der Innovation.
Israel konnte zwar wieder unter den Top 15 zurückkehren, aber ist noch immer weit entfernt von der einstigen Topplatzierung aus dem Jahr 2019 mit Platz 10.
Problembären, die Israels Innovation bremsen sind und bleiben die marode Infrastruktur und die monströse Bürokratie wie schwache politische Institutionen.
Um die Gesamtarchitektur der politischen Institutionen zu stärken und endlich eine Erneuerung der Infrastruktur einzuleiten, ist dringend eine Justizreform erforderlich.
Die ‘Israel Innovation Authority’ fasst zusammen: “Israel kehrt im GII-Bericht 2023 in die Top 15 zurück und erreicht den 14. Platz. Israel sticht in mehreren Bereichen hervor und belegt die Spitzenposition bei Marktreife (11.), Geschäftsreife (6.) und Wissens- und Technologieerträgen (5.). Es zeichnet sich weltweit als das einzige Land aus, das über 5% des BIP für Forschung und Entwicklung bereitstellt, mit bemerkenswerten Ausgaben von 5,6% im Jahr 2021.“
Die Probleme Israels sind und bleiben aber, die Infrastruktur (Platz 36), was der Staat zu verantworten hat, und die Institutionen (Platz 40), was ebenfalls der Staat zu verantworten hat.
Die (meist linken) ‘deep state’ Eliten ziehen Israel nach unten und lassen Israel schlecht dastehen, so jüngst auch der Index der ‘Global Cities‘, wo die schlechte Performance der Bürokratie eine bessere Platzierung verhinderte. Israel schmiert regelmäßig wegen der schlechten Bürokratie/Institutionen und Infratstruktur ab.
Israel verdient und braucht bessere Eliten.
