The ‘German-Israeli Society’ (DIG) rams up to defend the German Ambassador to Israel. Oyvey.

The scandal surrounding the German ambassador in Israel is getting bigger and bigger and is now being reported in international media.

Now the green-left defence troops for the German ambassador in Germany are starting to make disastrous statements and interventions.

As pars pro toto, Volker Beck should be mentioned, as the current president of the ‘German-Israeli Society’ (DIG which stands for ‘Deutsch-Israelische Gesellschaft’), which is mainly financed by the German ‘Auswaertiges Amt’ (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and is led by the Green Minister Baerbock.

Volker Beck was a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 to 2017. Beck was at times the spokesman for legal policy, human rights policy, domestic policy, religious policy and migration policy for the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group.

Not surprisingly, Beck is now stepping into the breach for the German ambassador in Israel and only making things worse. Beck has already been heavily criticized by Israeli NGOs for his anti-Israel stance.

Beck posted on X as documented by the journalist Benjamin Weinthal. Unfortunately, I cannot visit the account of Volker Beck because I am blocked by him.

from DIG has no idea about anti-Semitism or does he think there is good anti-Semitism and bad anti-Semitism? To make matters worse, @GerAmbTLV has already been reprimanded twice by the Israeli government. I think that’s a “bit much” for a real friend of the Jews!“

Benjamin Weinthal summarized on X: “After Germany’s ambassador to Israel @GerAmbTLV Steffen Seibert, posted a reportedly antisemitic and pro-Hamas X post below, many Israelis and Jews in the Diaspora are urging @GermanyDiplo to recall Seibert or for Israel @IsraelMFA @OrenMarmorstein to eject Seibert.”

IMHO Volker Beck is finished in his capacity as President of the DIG. Defending an obvious anti-Israel hate post is bad enough. Beck grants some sort of credibility to Hamas and at least implicitly considers the false, anti-Semitic claim of the terrorist organization Hamas maybe to be correct. Outrageous.

As President of the DIG, Beck is thus politically serving the anti-Semitic lie of “Israel, the child murderer.” The next one who had to resign, but won’t.
