Israel today is neither a democracy, let alone a thriving democracy, nor a Jewish state. Today, Israel is a socialist-styled juristocracy which can barely be called a Jewish state. The unelected deep state threatens free speech. There is barely a free market. The elected ones do not have the final say, but the unelected deep state does.
To further report on politics and business in Israel does not make sense anymore and might even be dangerous for an independent blogger. If the editor of the Jerusalem Post can be arrested by the Shin Bet without a warrant, without evidence and without access to a lawyer, then anything is possible.
Jews have no freedom of religion in the Jewish state and are faced with exploding anti-Judaism by the left, which is sheltered by the unelected deep state (selective enforcement).
Aliyah will likely collapse because you can’t explain to Jews from Western democracies why they should make Aliyah into a socialist-styled juristocracy which fights and hunts down Judaisms (sic!) and the community life of the synagogues, no matter which congregation, is very poor, non-integrative and almost non-existent.
However, without the diaspora, Israel will quickly derail. There are US Jews, UK Jews, French Jews, German Jews, Italian Jews, and Israeli Jews. The latter do not stand on high ground as they assume. They are not the better Jews.
The State of Israel was an endeavour of and built by the Jewish Diaspora, which kept the Torah for over 2,000 years. Coming home. Reclaiming the birthright.
The overwhelming majority of the Jewish Diaspora were/are worldwide at the forefront of democracy, fighting for independence and freedom and thriving forces for free markets/economies, science, jurisprudence, etc.
And many more Jews did even more. They kept daily under hostile circumstances as ‘klane Jidden’, the tradition, the hope for returning home. חזרים הביתה
However, over the course of history, Israeli Jews (i.e., their elites) failed to maintain, defend, and nourish democracy and freedom in the young state of Israel.
Once embracing communities turned into exclusive clubs, closed political projects and family shops. In other words, self-serving bubbles which care only about themselves.
Maybe Israeli Jews should tone down their provincial arrogance and learn and listen to the Jewish Diaspora (maybe by starting to learn languages).
Israel will either be a democratic and Jewish state, or it will end. Just proclaiming to be a thriving democracy is not enough. You have to prove it. Daily.
Result. The unelected deep state won and established a Juristocracy and a socialist-styled economy. Arrangements were made.
The elites established a kind of equilibrium. The Left – with big support from the Western global Left and the Globalists – hijacked and destroyed Israel’s democracy and Judaisms (sic!), and the right camp was, as always, cowards, closed shops and silently obeyed, walked away, disappeared. Big words, no action. Until today.
Nowadays, Israel cannot be called a thriving democracy. Israel is today more a socialist-styled juristocracy. 7/10 proved that today Israel isn’t even the promised safe harbour for Jews.
On 7/10, the socialist-styled juristocracy and deep state of Israel failed and collapsed. The juristocracy and deep state are to blame.
Only a thriving democratic, Jewish state of Israel will be a global bulwark and platform against antisemitism and again the promised safe harbour for Jews. Israel as the light.
PS: The law passed to restrict the power of the Juristocracy is a laughing stock and a menetekel of the weakness of the right camp in Israel. They are the majority, but are afraid to rule.
