Zwischen 2009 bis 2018 gründeten 436 israelische Unternehmen eine Repräsentanz in New York. Im Jahr 2018 produzierten diese israelische Unternehmen einen Umsatz von 18,6 Milliarden USD. Sie schaffen damit einen volkswirtschaftlichen Mehrwert aka volkswirtschaftliche Wertschöpfung von rund 33 Milliarden USD laut NYIBA. Dies schlägt sich schließlich in der Beschäftigungszahl nieder: Rund 25.000 New Yorker sind direkt bei israelischen Unternehmen beschäftigt.
Israelische Untenehmen tragen so rund 2% zum Bruttosozialprodukt von New York bei. Dies ist anbetracht der Größe Israels sehr bemerkenswert und eine erhebliche Dimension.
Unicorns in New York
Dies wird bedingt duch eine besondere Klasse von israelischen Startups, die gerne als ‘Einhörner’ bezeichnet werden. Damit sind Privatunternehmen gemeint, die vornehmlich Startups sind und mehr als eine 1 Milliarde USD Unternehmensbewertung aufweisen.
Diese sind nach NYIBA folgende: Axonius, BigID, Forter, Gett, Kaltura, K Health, Melio, Monday.com, OrCam, Outbrain, Papaya Global, Payoneer, Riskified, SimilarWeb, Sisense, Taboola, Talkspace, The We Company, VAST Data, Via und Yotpo.
Schließlich legen israelische Unternehmen in New York eine beeindruckende Wachstumsrate mit 9,5% vor, was mehr als doppelt so viel ist als die durchschnttliche Wachstumsrate von New Yorker Unternehmen mit 4,2% (2018).
Antisemitismus in Europa
In Summe: Israel ist auch in New York eine Erfolgsgeschichte. In EU-Europa leider nicht aufgrund der aggressiven anti-israllischen Politik, wie viele Kritiker bemerken, und das rasend zunehmend Antisemitismus, der durch die Pandemie im Jahr 2020 einen massiven Schub erhielt. Besonders in Berlin erreicht der Antisemitsimus einen für manche ungeahnten Höhepunkt, wie Arutz Sheva berichtet.
So stiegen die antisemitischen Vorfälle von 2019 auf 2020 um rund 20% an. Nach wie vor duckt sich die dafür verantwortliche Stadtregierung unter Führung der SPD mit den GRÜNEN und DRE LINKEN weg . Die Stadtregierung findet auch in diesem Jahr keinen Weg die wichtigste antisemitsiche Hass- und Hetzdemonstration gegen Israel und Juden, veranstaltet vom Umfeld der iranischen Botschaft, zu unterbinden.
Die Bundesregierung, allen voran Außenminister Maas, üben sich in der Miene der Unschuld und Verständnislosigkeit, lassen aber keine Gelegenheit aus, in multilateralen Gremien wie der UNO verläßlich vorwiegend gegen Israel zu stimmen.
Mittlerweile gehört Deutschland zu den größten Zahlern der UNRWA, die besonders massiv gegen Juden und den Staat Israel hetzt. Derweil tun Wirtschaftsverbände und andere staatsnahe Plattformen so, als wäre nix und üben sich im Beschweigen. Sie suchen zwar gerne die wirtschaftliche Kooperation, doch der Erfolg, so zwischen deutschem Mittelstand und israelischen Startups, bleibt mehr als überschaubar.
Der politische Rahmen und das politische Establishment befeuern eher Antisemitismus und die ablehende Grundhaltung gegenüber dem Staat Israel innerhalb Deutschlands und der Europäischen Union. Das schadet der wirtschaftlichen und wissenschaftlichen Kooperation. Da helfen auch keine Sonntagsreden und halbherzige staatsnahe Plattformen mehr, die in Zeiten wie diesen auch die falschen und zu trögen Instrumente sind.
Was ein besseres Klima, gute Rahmenbedingungen und dynamische Plattformen bringen könnten, demonstriert eben sehr gut das Beispiel New York. Es wäre für Berlin oder Paris eine tolle Bilanz, könnten Paris oder Berlin 21 israelische ‘Einhörner’, die der Stadt rund 18 Milliarden USD an Umsatz und 33 Milliarden USD an volkswirtschaftlicher Wertschöpfung bringen, gewinnen.
Israel liegt vor EU-Europas Haustür. Und mit den Abraham-Verträgen entsteht gerade ein neuer mächtiger Wirtschaftsraum. EU-Europa unter deutscher Führung muss endlich seine antiisraelische Haltung aufgeben und Antisemitismus in EU-Europa bekämpfen. Zum Vorteil und mehr Frieden für alle.

Anti-Semitism in Europe
In sum: Israel is also a success story in New York. In EU-Europe, unfortunately, not because of the aggressive anti-Semitic policy, as many critics note, and the furiously increasing anti-Semitism, which received a massive boost by the pandemic in 2020. Particularly in Berlin, anti-Semitism is reaching what some consider to be unprecedented heights, as Arutz Sheva reports.

This is detrimental to economic and scientific cooperation. Sunday speeches and half-hearted state-related platforms are no longer of any help, which are also the wrong and too dull instruments in times like these.
What a better climate, good framework conditions and dynamic platforms could bring is demonstrated very well by the example of New York. It would be a great result for Berlin or Paris if they could attract 21 Israeli ‘unicorns’, which bring the city around USD 18 billion in revenue and USD 33 billion in economic value added.
Israel is on EU-Europe’s doorstep. And with the Abraham treaties, a new powerful economic area is just emerging. EU-Europe under German leadership must finally give up its anti-Israel stance and fight anti-Semitism in EU-Europe. For the benefit and more peace for all.
