Die EU hat einen von ihr finanzierten, aktuellen Bericht (2021) zum Status quo israelischer Techunternehmen in der EU vorgelegt. Durchgeführt wurde die Studie von EIT HUB, CQ Global und ISERD.
Sieht man sich Tonalität und präsentierte Fakten an, dann weiß man, warum die EU dort steht, wo sie steht: Am Abgrund und vor maßgeblicher Destabilisierung. Der technologische Rückstand wird immer gravierender. Mit Genderstudien lässt sich kein Staat und Wertschöpfung gestalten. Und ja, die Innovation findet vor der Haustüre der EU statt: Israel. Fakt ist, Israel gehört – mit den USA und Südkorea – zu den drei globalen Kraftzentren der Wissenschaft.
Die EU aber scheint im Fieberwahn zu sein und phantasiert. Sie sieht Erfolge, wo keine sind und blendet die politische wie gesellschaftliche Realität völlig aus. Gerade mal 912 israelische Unternehmen sind in EU-Europa engagiert, die in einem Eco-System von rund 440 Millionen Menschen sehr überschaubar 24.223 Menschen beschäftigen. Ernsthaft?! Diese Micky Maus Zahlen will man abfeiern?

Und ein Geschmäckle hat es auch, wenn man liest: “A comprehensive and up-to-date report reviewing Israeli startups based in the EU.“, wenn man sich den kompletten Bericht mit mal 18 Seiten downloaden möchte. Auch da, einige der genannten Unternehmen, wie TEVA oder WIX, sind nicht mehr als Startups zu betrachten.
Das ist eine gefühlte Moggelpackung und eine ärgerliche Darstellung. Man versucht hier augenscheinlich ein Framing, wonach die EU ein cooler, hyper Platz für israelische Startups und für jüdische Unternehmen sei. Das stimmt definitiv so nicht. EU-Europa ist ein sehr gefährlicher Platz für Juden.
New York outperformt die EU
Diese Dimension liefert alleine New York mit rund 10 Millionen Einwohnern. In New York sprechen wir mal gleich von 21 ‘Einhörnern’ aus Israel, also Startup-Unternehmen mit einer Unternehmensbewertung größer als 1 Milliarde USD. Das sucht man in EU-Europa vergeblich. Egal, welchen Parameter man nimmt, New York alleine outperformed die EU um Längen.
Jedes 10.te ‘Einhorn’ der Welt kommt aus Israel oder wurde von Israelis bzw Diaspora gegründet. 35,5% der israelischen ‘Unicorns’ haben ihren Sitz in die USA verlegt.
In EU-Europa sind es genau NULL Prozent (Stand 2021). Kein ‘Unicorn’ hat seinen Hauptsitz in EU-Europa aufgeschlagen. Das ist eine sehr starke Botschaft. Die Zahlen wurden von Tech Aviv erhoben.
UK Mitglied der EU???
Doch halt, wer ist diese EU in diesem Bericht, der da finanziert wurde von der EU? Man kommt aus dem Staunen schließlich nicht mehr raus. Man schmückt sich imho recht dreist mit fremden Federn, denn ja, UK wird einfach mal als Mitglied der EU geführt; dazu nachstehender Grafik aus dem Bericht von der Website zur Dokumentation:
Das “europäische Wunder”, die Zauberkraft der EU schnurrt in Relation betrachtet auf nichts, nimmt man mal tatsächlich nur EU-Europa in den Blick.
Meint, man muss UK rausrechnen, denn UK ist nicht Mitglied der EU. Fakt. Dann werden aus 912 israelischen Techunternehmen gerade mal 507 Techunternehmen aus Israel und aus den stolzen 24.223 Beschäftigten werden 17.860.
Rausrechnen muss man schließlich auch 16% der Unternehmen, die da sind, weil sie Gelder aus der Öffentlichen Hand, sprich von der EU, erhalten. Ohne diese, wären sie wahrscheinlich eher nicht in EU-Europa. Also rund noch einmal 80 Unternehmen sind abzuziehen, dann käme man auf 424 israelische Techunternehmen. Das ist eine Niederlage.
Zu den großen Technologieunternehmen zählt dieser Bericht auch das Pharmazieunternehmen TEVA. Gut, man mag dies vielleicht noch durchgehen lassen, TEVA als Technologieunternehen zu kategorisieren, muss man dieses Schmücken dann doch mit Befremden sehen, wenn gerade die EU versucht, TEVA nach Strich und Faden fertig zu machen und die EU eine formelle Untersuchung gegen TEVA eingeleitet hat. TEVA beschäftigt nach Angaben dieses Berichts die meisten EU-Bürger. Tja.
Vernichtender Status quo
Das ist für eine Wirtschaftsraum in der Dimension der EU eine vernichtende Niederlage. Denn ja, natürlich weiß man in der EU, dass man vor der Haustüre ein Silicon Valley liegen hat. Israel gilt als der zweitstärkste Innovationsraum der Welt mit der höchsten Startup-Dichte pro-Kopf der Welt und der höchsten pro-Kopf Ausgaben für Bildung, Forschung und Lehre, um nur einige wenige Fakten anzuführen.
Großunternehmen wie AMAZON, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, INTEL und viele andere mehr haben verstanden, dass man in Israel sein muss. Ja, das versteht auch die EU. Aber sie will wie eine beleidigte Diva gebeten sein, alles solle zum Nulltarif man erhalten, aber mit der Hetze gegen Israel auf politischer Ebene will die EU gerne weiter machen. Gegen Antisemitismus auf den Straßen Europas will man auch nicht wirklich vorgehen. So funktioniert das nicht, wie die sehr ernüchternden Zahlen beweisen.
Es ist bedauerlich, dass die EU nicht aus ihrer antisemitischen Hetzjagd gegen Israel heraus findet. Wo es nur geht, agiert die EU gegen Israel wie in der UN oder mit dem “Appeasement” gegenüber dem islamistischen Terrorregime Iran oder der nicht minder islamistischen Türkei. Die EU finanziert über viele Wege indirekt islamistische Terrororganisationen wie Hamas&Co, Fatah und PA und linksextreme wie radikal-christliche Vereine, die gegen Israel hetzen.
Die Liste der feindlichen Handlungen der EU gegen Israel ist lang. Und eine heißt: Die fortgesetzte Nicht-Anerkennung Jerusalems als die unteilbare Hauptstadt Israels. Wie will man ernsthaft gute Beziehungen haben, wenn man nicht einmal die Hauptstadt anerkennt? Das ist lächerlich.
Die EU unter Führung Deutschlands ist die führende westliche Macht gegen Israel. Das kommt nicht gut. Und noch weniger, wenn dann staatsnahe Wirtschaftsvereine und durch den Staat üppig finanzierte Plattformen wieder einmal versuchen, irgendwelche Brücken zu bauen zwischen Israel und den EU-europäischen Unternehmen.
Diesmal, nachdem es ja mit den EU-europäischen Großunternehmen so gar nicht geklappt hat, und EU-europäische Wagniskapitalunternehmen, Banken und Investoren sowieso völlig in Angststarre sind und nur dort sich engagieren, wo die staatliche Ausfallshaftung winkt, da plaudert und sprudelt man nun was von Brücken zwischen Mittelstand und israelischen Startups.
Auch schon mal gescheitert, wird weiterhin scheitern und keine nennenswerte Erfolge in strukturell relevanter Dimension befördern. Freilich bei dem niedrigen Niveau kann man dann schon einen Erfolg in Zukunft verbuchen und darstellen. Von 1 auf 2 sind es dann auch 100% Wachstum. Wow.
Der Historiker Michael Wolffsohn bringt es in seinem Kommentar “1700 Jahre Juden in Deutschland – Existenz auf Widerruf“, wo er schreibt: “Wieder droht daher den Juden Gefahr von unten (er meint das heutige Deutschland; Anm). Anders als seit 321 n. Chr. sind wir Juden nicht mehr auf Gnade angewiesen. Wir haben Israel. Ein „judenreines“ Deutschland verlöre aber dringend benötigtes israelisches sowie allgemein jüdisches Know-how. Deutschland hat die Wahl.”
Und über diese Tatsache muss auch Israel und israelische Unternehmer stärker informiert werden. Denn die Diaspora in EU-Europa steht unter stetig wachsender Bedrohung und solche Berichte werden gerne und leicht mißbraucht, um diese dramatische Lage der Juden in EU-Europa zu verharmlosen, schön zu reden und zu kaschieren.
Solche Berichte sind ärgerlich und helfen niemanden. Was wäre anders zu machen, was wären sinnvolle Maßnahmen? Das ist ein anderes Kapitel.

The EU has released a recent report funded by the EU on the status quo of Israeli tech companies in the EU. The study was conducted by EIT HUB, CQ Global and ISERD.
If you look at the tone and facts presented, you know why the EU is where it is: On the precipice and facing significant destabilization. The technological backlog is becoming more and more serious. Gender studies cannot be used to shape the state and create value. And yes, innovation is taking place on the EU’s doorstep: Israel
But the EU seems to be at fever pitch and fantasizing. It sees success where there is none and completely ignores political and social reality. Just 912 Israeli companies are involved in EU-Europe, employing a very manageable 24,223 people in an eco-system of about 440 million people. Seriously?! You want to celebrate these Mickey Mouse numbers?
And it also has a taint when you read: “A comprehensive and up-to-date report reviewing Israeli startups based in the EU.”, if you want to download the complete report with times 18 pages. (see Screenshote 1 above). Even there, some of the companies mentioned, such as TEVA or WIX, are no longer to be considered as startups. That is a felt deceptive package and an annoying (mis-)representation. People are apparently trying to frame this as the EU being a cool, hyper place for Israeli startups and for Jewish companies. This is definitely not true. EU-Europe is in fact a very dangerous place for Jews.
New York outperforms the EU
This dimension is provided by New York alone, with a population of around 10 million, as reported on Glocalist recently. And with the Israeli companies in New York, we are talking about 21 ‘unicorns’, i.e. startup companies with a company valuation of more than 1 billion USD. You look for that in vain in EU Europe. No matter which parameter you take, New York outperforms the EU by far.
Every 10th ‘unicorn’ in the world comes from Israel or was founded by Israelis or Diaspora. 35.5% of the Israeli ‘Unicorns’ have moved their headquarters to the USA. In EU-Europe it is exactly ZERO percent. No ‘Unicorn’ has set up its headquarters in EU-Europe. This is a very strong message. The figures were collected by Tech Aviv, as reported on Glocalist.
UK member of the EU???
But wait, who is this EU in this report that was there funded by the EU? One can’t get out of the amazement anymore. One adorns oneself imho quite brazenly with foreign feathers, because yes, UK is simply times as a member of the EU led; in addition the following diagram from the report of the Website to the documentation (see Screenshot 2 below).
The “European miracle”, the magic power of the EU purrs in relation considered on nothing, one takes times actually only EU Europe in the view. Means, one must count UK out, because UK is not member of the EU. Fact. Then 912 Israeli tech companies become just 507 tech companies from Israel and the proudly presented 24,223 employees become 17,860.
Finally, you have to calculate out 16% of the companies that are there because they receive funds from the public sector, i.e. from the EU. Without this, they would probably not be in EU Europe. So around another 80 companies are to be subtracted, then you would come to 424 Israeli tech companies. That is a defeat.
This report also counts the pharmaceutical company TEVA among the large tech companies. Well, you might let this pass, categorizing TEVA as a tech company, but you have to view this adornment with disbelief when it is the EU that is trying to bash TEVA through the teeth and the EU has opened a formal investigation against TEVA. TEVA employs the most EU citizens, according to this report. Well done EU, well done.
Devastating status quo
That’s a crushing defeat for an economic area the size of the EU. Because yes, of course, the EU knows it has a Silicon Valley on its doorstep. Israel is considered the second most innovative region in the world, with the highest startup density per capita in the world and the highest per capita spending on education, research and teaching, to name just a few facts.
Major companies like AMAZON, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, INTEL and many more have understood the need to be in Israel. Yes, the EU understands that too. But she wants to be asked like an offended diva, everything should be received at zero cost one, but with the agitation against Israel on the political level the EU wants to continue gladly. And against anti-Semitism on the streets of Europe the EU also does not really want to act. It doesn’t work that way, as the very sobering figures also show.
It is regrettable that the EU cannot find a way out of its anti-Semitic smear campaign against Israel. Wherever possible, the EU acts against Israel, as in the UN or with “appeasement” towards the Islamist terror regime Iran or the no less Islamist Turkey. The EU finances through many ways Islamist terrorist organizations like Hamas&Co, Fatah and PA and left-wing extremist as well as radical Christian associations that agitate against Israel.
The list of hostile actions of the EU against Israel is long. And one hostile action is called: The continued non-recognition of Jerusalem as the indivisible capital of Israel. How can you seriously have good relations if you don’t even recognize the capital? That is ridiculous.
The EU, led by Germany, is the leading Western power against Israel. This does not go well. And even less so when state-affiliated business associations and platforms lavishly financed by the state then once again try to build any bridges between Israel and EU-European companies.
This time, after it didn’t work out at all with the large EU-European companies, and EU-European venture capital companies, banks and investors are completely paralyzed by fear anyway and only get involved where the state’s default liability beckons, there is now klein-talk and smalltalk of bridges between small and medium-sized businesses and Israeli startups.
This has failed before, will continue to fail, and will not lead to any noteworthy successes in a structurally relevant dimension. Admittedly, at the low level, one can then already book and present a success in the future. From 1 to 2, it is then also 100% growth. Wow.
The historian Michael Wolffsohn brings it in his commentary “1700 years of Jews in Germany – existence on revocation”, where he writes: “Again therefore danger threatens the Jews from below (he means today’s Germany; note). Unlike since 321 A.D., we Jews are no longer dependent on mercy. We have Israel. A “Jew-pure” Germany, however, would lose urgently needed Israeli as well as general Jewish know-how. Germany has a choice.”
And Israel and Israeli entrepreneurs also need to be more informed about this fact. Because the Diaspora in EU-Europe is under constantly growing threat and such reports are readily and easily misused to downplay, gloss over and conceal this dramatic situation of the Jews in EU-Europe.
Such reports are annoying and help no one. What could be done differently, what would be reasonable measures? That is another chapter.
