Reasons for the Downgrade of Israel. View of an Oleh.

The downgrade of Israel’s rating has many reasons. It is not only the war. However, it is not only because of the anti-democratic protests against judicial reform.

We have a multitude of factors that led to the downgrade. Let us name the five main ones with some keywords.

1. Partly the downgrade is due to the non-existence of support by the Biden administration and the outspoken plan to establish a “Palestinian state” within the heartland of Israel without any negotiations or consent by Israel. The strategic aim of the US Democrats and Biden is obviously the annihilation of the State of Israel. A small area around Tel Aviv seems to be the future of Israel according to the wishes of the Left. A “Jewish” principality, a Republic of Tel Aviv. Jerusalem will be an international city under the rule of the UN and the “rest” will be the ethnically cleansed, anti-democratic, anti-US, anti-semitic Muslim terror state of Palestine. As said in another piece of opinion: The two main enemies of Israel are the Left and Jihadism.

2. The downgrade was partly due to the war. Yes, war is expensive and the Israel military concept was a complete failure. I guess there is no more need for explanations.

3. An additional reason for the downgrade was and is that we do not have a free market in Israel; hence no customer service and no competitive domestic products. A small oligarchy/left elites rule the economy and have economic privileges. That makes prices high and harms the economy.

4. Partly the government did not deliver the justicial reform for more democracy and was faced with a violent, well-funded left opposition that has barely obeyed any laws and rules. They were and are completely protected by the deep state, politically shielded by Gantz and Lapid and medially shielded by Kan 11 to 13 to various degrees. This does not give a good picture of the soundness of the state institutions if an opposition can that easily paralyze a state and its government.

5. Finally, Israel has a very very bad infrastructure (streets, schools, etc) which costs additionally the average citizens thousands of NIS in time, resources, and money. We are living on a construction site with a pressing bureaucracy costing time and productivity.

After the war which we will win some tasks are waiting for us. Israel – with Aza, Judea, Shomron, and the undivided eternal capital Jerusalem – needs to become better, more democratic, and more resilient which means no more appeasement. If you shot at us for one time your annihilation is guaranteed. A “Palestinian state” won’t shoot, because it will not come into existence.
